This photo tour includes: Dettifoss, Selfoss, Godafoss, Lake Myvatn, Krafla, Namaskard, Askja, Herdubreid, Kerlingarfjoll, Hvtiserkur Gygjarfoss, Gullfoss, Hraunfossar – and hopefully the Northern Lights.
Classic shots and other frames you would not find on your own on a guided tour for nature and landscape photographers, from beginners to advanced.

Included:
Dbl room accommodation in the best locations, hotels with breakfast, lunches, group dinners for 8 nights, guided tour with a local English speaking guide with solid knowledge of photography and Iceland – led by the photographer and instructor, Andy Cook.
Excluded: Flights to and from Iceland, drinks
This tour is on a Super-Truck that can take you to the remote locations with local driverguides who are photo enthusiasts and also know Iceland as landscape photographers.
Itinerary:
August 27: Arrival in Iceland (Flights to Iceland not included)
Transfer to Reykjavik is not included but you can either take the Flybus to Reykjavik or we can arrange for a private taxi transfer (40 min. drive).
Since most people arrive in the morning, after an overnight flight from the US, there will be a introductory photo tour around Reykjavik. Photographing Harpa, the old harbor, Sun Voyager, Höfði house and possibly Videy Island.

August 28: Hraunfossar Falls & Mt. Kirkjufell
After breakfast we drive to Thingvellir NP which is one of the best places in the world to see the tectonic plate boundaries. We continue through Kaldidalur, second highest mt. road in Iceland to Borgarfjörður to photograph Hraunfossar and Barnafoss waterfalls.

August 29: Hvitserkur Rock

Midday: Stykkisholmur town and harbour. Perhaps a visit to Bjarnarhofn shark museum.

August 31: Namaskard and Dettifoss

September 1: Dettifoss and Godafoss

Midday: After the sunrise shoot, we go back to the hotel to pack and take a bit of down time. Perhaps we will have time and energy to photograph Aldeyjarfoss.

September 2: Goðafoss & Kjölur mt. route to Kerlingarfjoll
Sunrise photography session at Goðafoss waterfall. After breakfast we pack up and drive to Kerlingarfjöll via Kjölur mt. route, which connect the south to the north through the center of Iceland. Great vistas and view to two of the largest glaciers in Iceland; Langjökull and Hofsjökull. We arrive at Kerlingarfjöll around mid day and have a bit of relax time before early dinner before we go up to our main attraction of the day; the colourful ryolite mountains, with geothermal vents, S-shaping rivers, ridges and canyons. We spend the time until sunset photographing.

September 3: Kerlingarfjöll – Gullfoss – Reykjavik
We start with photographing at the same place the evening before but now at sunrise.
After the morning session we come back for breakfast, pack up and continue driving south through the mountain road Kjölur. Enroute we stop at Gýgjarfoss, a powerful waterfall with many great forgrounds to choose from and no man-made distractions.
Around noon we stop at Gullfoss waterfall for lunch and those who wish, can also photograph the waterfall. We aim to arrive in Reykjavik between 3 and 4 in the afternoon so you have a bit of time to shop or relax before you are invited to our final dinner together.

Sept. 4: Departure
If your flight is in the afternoon, it’s ideal to enjoy a relaxing soak in the Blue Lagoon on your way to the airport (not incl.)
